• No Class – Christmas Day (12/25/23) and New Year’s Day (1/1/24) (both on Monday)
• November 18 – Bill Smith was awarded his yellow Belt (Gokyu).  John Calderone was awarded his green belt (Yonkyu). Shomen consisted of Terry Sharp (Rokudan),  Paul Gelineau (Sandan), and Dustin Bruso (Nidan). Congratulations Bill and Jonny!
• November 27, 2023 – There will be NO CLASS this Saturday (12/2) due to an Aikido seminar
• October 24, 2023 – Aki No Kure Judo will host a seminar on Saturday, November 18, from10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at our dojo. It will be a USJA sanctioned event given by Sensei Terry Sharp, Rokudan (6th Degree Black belt). He is a certified Kata instructor and National level Coach, as well as being a really nice guy.
  • While it is expected that Sensei Sharp will cover many and various topics, the emphasis will be on Nage No Kata. Everyone should consider taking advantage of this opportunity to learn from Sensi Sharp.

• September 27, 2023 – Please save the dates for the following upcoming events in our area
  with Sensei Ken Durand of the Keene YMCA.  Sensei Ken Durand,
  Shichidan, is a U.S. National Kata Grand Champion, a USJA certified
  Coaching Instructor, a certified National Level Instructor and Judge in
  several katas, as well as serving as Vice-Chair on the USJA Promotion
  Board and as a member of the USJA Kata Committee.
      * October 22nd – Seiryoku Zen’yo Kokumin Taiiku Kata Clinic
            o hosted by UNH Judo – Durham, NH – Times to be determined.
      * October 29th – USJA Coaching Level 1 Clinic
            o hosted by Keene YMCA – Keene, NH – Times to be determined.
      * November 4 – Keene YMCA Shiai – Keene YMCA Judo – Keene, NH
            o The return of a great local tournament for players and new
  referees to gain experience.
      * December 3 – Nage No Kata Clinic
            o hosted by San Machi Judo – Foxboro, MA – 10 am to 1 pm

• August 28, 2023 – There will be NO CLASS, on Monday, September 4th, due to the Memorial Day holiday. Enjoy! There will be REGULAR CLASS on both Saturday, September 2nd, Saturday 9th and Monday, August 28th.
• June 27, 2023 – There will be NO CLASS, on Monday, July 3rd, due to the holiday. There will be REGULAR CLASS on both Saturday, July 1st and the 8th.
• April 7, 2023 – There will be NO CLASS, on Saturday, April 8th, due to logistical issues. There will be REGULAR CLASS on Monday, April 10th.
• March 28, 2023 – Great News! We are pleased to announce that sensei Terry Sharp, Rokudan (6th Degree) has agreed join our club. Terry had been the Head Coach of Cohoes Judo, which unfortunately has closed. He will us guidance and direction periodically. We will schedule his first visit when it gets a bit warmer. Welcome aboard Terry!

• February 23, 2023 – Aki No Kure is now a USJA Chartered club! Our designation is #VT901. Phil Matcovich (Sandan) is the Head Coach. Please thank Dustin for making this happen.
• February 1, 2023 – There will be NO CLASS, on Saturday, February 4th, due to the cold. There will be REGULAR CLASS on Monday, Janaury 6th.
• January 4, 2023 – Saturday Judo classes will resume on Jan 7th @ 10:30 with Sensei Paul
